RALEIGH YOGA CENTER
What Is Yoga?
Yoga (union) is a complete system for the development
of the human being, integrating body, mind, and spirit. The benefits of Yoga
may be experienced on different levels:
· a relaxing pause from life in the fast
lane.
· a means for strengthening and
invigorating the body and mind.
· a therapy for many physical and
psychological difficulties or ailments.
· a path to higher states of
consciousness.
Our teaching at the Raleigh
Yoga Center
stems from a classical Yoga background and is strongly influenced by B. K. S. Iyengar, one of the foremost Yoga
teachers in the world today and author of the classic Light on Yoga. His
style is unsurpassed in grace, subtlety, and precision. The Iyengar method can
be vigorous and aerobic, emphasizing careful postural alignment, full spinal
extension, and building of stamina and endurance. This leads to a balance of
strength and flexibility and to the development of self-awareness through both
precision in movement and attention to the subtle aspects of posture and
breathing.
Please join us in classes at the Raleigh
Yoga Center,
a space where you can find a more creative way toward the understanding of,
caring for, and growing in your physical, mental, and emotional selves.
